GardenNews.biz - Jun 10,2011 - After almost 11,000 consumers voted in the 2010 American Garden Award contest, the program is back and bigger than ever for 2011. There are now twenty-four participating public gardens displaying seven stunning new varieties for the gardening public to choose as their favorite. All twenty four Display Gardens have reported that the entries are now planted and are ready for viewing...and voting! Those gardens can be found listed on the AGA website.
There are three ways to vote:
1. By texting a given code to a polling number found on signage in the gardens.
2. By going to www.americangardenaward.com to vote now!
3. By using postage-paid voting postcards located at most gardens.
The seven entries are:
Dahlia ‘Dahlinova Hypnotica®Lavender’
Ornamental Pepper ‘Uchu™’
Petunia ‘Easy Wave™ Neon Rose’
Petunia milliflora ‘Picobella™ Rose Star’
Scaevola ‘Surdiva® Light Blue’
‘SunPatiens® Variegated Spreading White’
Voting is open until August 31 and winners will be announced in September.
In the meantime, any or all of these flowers are available at your local garden retailer. Ask for them by name!
