This class will cover both Adobe Photoshop CS5 and Adobe Photoshop Elements 9. Previous versions of both programs will be discussed. This is an introductory course with emphasis on editing images for photographers. Participants may bring their own laptops and work along with the instructor (images will be provided) or simply attend and take notes.

Orchid Spectacular

Orchids are the jewels of the botanical world and this winter Daniel Stowe Botanical Garden is putting on an orchid show to entice the casual guest, educate the novice and entertain the expert. The Gardens fourth annual Orchid Spectacular, Jan. 14 through March 14, kicks off with the North Carolina Piedmont Orchid Society's annual show and sale, Jewel Box Orchids. It continues with educational classes, workshops and a dazzling display in the regions only glasshouse dedicated to the display of orchids and tropical plants.
Free with Garden Admission. Garden members free; adults $12, seniors 60+ $11, children 4-12 $6 and children 3 and under free.
Floral Wreath

Craft a simple but elegant wreath using dried floral materials such as lavender buds, rose petals, buckwheat hulls, or brilliant yellow calendula petals. Each wreath is unique depending on choice of plant materials and ribbon, resulting in a lovely botanical wreath suitable to present to a valentine or to hang in your own home.
