The faculty of the Department of Horticulture is a diverse group of 20 scientists doing research, teaching, and outreach along a wide spectrum - from highly applied field work, to specialized biotechnological investigations.
Members work with a diversity of crops and plants, encompassing fruits, vegetables, and ornamental crops (including floral, turf, woody and herbaceous plants), as well as model plant species, such as Wisconsin Fast Plants and Arabidopsis thaliana.
Despite this broad range of interests, the faculty work together to complement one another's programs to strengthen the quality of the achievements of the department.
The research, outreach, and teaching missions of the department are strengthened and enhanced by a diverse group of 41 support and 8 administative staff members.
