Annie Shaver-Crandell is a visual artist based in Manhattan whose fondness for fresh air and magnificent colors has brought her repeatedly to Planting Fields to paint out of doors. As an art historian in her previous profession, she offers both historical and contemporary approaches to the depiction of landscape and floral themes. She is a member of the Board of Directors of the Salmagundi Club of New York and teaches privately in her studio in Manhattan's historic Noho district.

ARBOR DAY FAMILY FESTIVAL
10:00AM – 5:00PM / Rain or shine / $20 per vehicle
The 2017 Arbor Day Family Festival features live music by the crowd’s favorites Peat Moss and the Fertilizers, performances by the Hoodoo Loungers, Strummin’ & Drummin', Peat Moss & the Fertilizers, National Circus Project, the Mutville Comix Dog Show, kid’s tree climb by Wonderland Tree Care, petting zoo, face painting, caricaturists, plant clinics, tree plantings with Smokey the Bear, FREE self-guided visits of Coe Hall. The festival is a collaborative effort between Planting Fields Foundation and the New York State Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation. $20 per car load; once inside the park all activities are FREE!
