More than a dozen summer classes available for children
in preschool through ninth grade
ALBUQUERQUE, NM - Registration opens tomorrow for summer sessions of Camp BioPark, an interactive camp for children in preschool through ninth grade.
There are more than a dozen classes to choose from, and classes take place at the Zoo, Botanic Garden and Aquarium.
At Camp BioPark, children learn science through hands-on activities such as feeling the skin and teeth of a shark, hunting for hidden symbols in the Japanese Garden and preparing diets with zookeepers.
"Camp BioPark is educational and great fun," said Cheri Vogel, ABQ BioPark curator of education. "The experiences offered at camp create life-long memories for campers."
Camps, which run weekly from June 5-July 28, include both indoor and outdoor activities with time for snacks and lunch. Camps for students in grades three through nine include at least one behind-the-scenes tour and zookeeper or aquarist interaction. All activities are subject to staff and animal availability and there will be no classes July 3-7.
Both full-day and half-day options are available and children can sign up for two different half-day camps occurring on the same day. Child care is available during lunch for campers attending two half-day camps in the same location.
More information about camps and registration information can be found at abqbiopark.com/camp-biopark.
