Spring is almost here and it’s time to get your tomatoes started. What are the pros and cons of different tomato varieties? Do you know the difference between indeterminate and determined varieties of tomatoes? What insects are beneficial or harmful to your tomato plants? Join us on Saturday, March 4 at 1PM at the SLO Botanical Garden to discover how to grow and harvest tomatoes as well as the best ways to store them, with Master Gardener and Master Food Preserver Tami Reece. Presentation is followed by a free docent-led tour of the Garden at 2PM.

Tami Reece has been a UCCE Master Gardener for 6 years and a UCCE Master Food Preserver for 4 years. Her first love is vegetables and at one time her garden held over 80 different varieties of heirloom and hybrid tomatoes. She loves to share her knowledge on how to grow, harvest, and preserve vegetables especially tomatoes.
