The three-quarter acre Lavender Garden is Chatfield Farms’ newest garden, established in 2015.
There are 14 varieties of lavender under cultivation in rows to demonstrate growing lavender as a crop, while several more varieties of lavender are grown as ornamental plants within nearby perennial beds.
The xeric trees, shrubs and perennials were chosen since many of them are pollinator favorites and a part of the Plant Select program.
A rock garden is a feature in this garden that displays rock alpine and xeric plants.
Included are a labyrinth, pergola, stone patio and retaining wall.
