EXHIBITS + DISPLAYS Edible: Botanical Art & Illustration THRU– February 17 This annual juried exhibition from the Gardens’ School of Botanical Art & Illustration features the students’ best achievements in a variety of media. The theme for this show is edible plants and highlights the artists’ technical skill and botanical knowledge.
Orchid Showcase January 6 – February 20 This annual exhibition returns to present hundreds of colorful orchid blooms in the Orangery and Marnie’s Pavilion. Common and rare species are featured, some even so special they have to remain behind the greenhouse glass. The 2017 display theme is Victorian.
TOURS Garden Guru Tour Thursday, February 2, 2-3 p.m. $17, $10 member Immerse yourself in the Gardens with a horticulturist as your guide. Gain insight into living museum collections and walk away with gardening tips from an expert.
Tropical Trails Tour Saturdays, February 4, 2-3 p.m. $14, $7 member Denver may be blanketed with snow, but the plants in the Boettcher Memorial Tropical Conservatory enjoy a warm climate year-round. Enjoy the lush vegetation, vibrant flowers and warmth of the rainforest as you stroll through the Gardens’ tropical collections. This is a one-hour tour led by experienced docents.
